Custom Bronze Plaques
How much does a custom bronze plaque cost?
Cost depends on size, material, and design complexity. A simple rectangular plaque costs far less than a large custom-shaped piece with raised lettering or a 3-D bas relief. Pricing starts at $269 for a 6-inch circular memorial and scales up to $4,290 for a large 24×32 plaque, with several sizes in between (5×15 at $539, 10×16 at $879, 16×20 at $1,691, 18×24 at $2,285). Custom sizes are quoted individually
What's the difference between bronze and aluminum for a plaque?
Bronze castings use lead-free alloys (C22000, C903, C87850) and carry the traditional look standard for architectural and historical work. Aluminum castings use aircraft-quality alloys (A356, 5052-H32) and are often chosen for lighter weight or larger sign panels.
How is a bronze plaque mounted on a brick or concrete wall?
For brick, stone, or concrete use masonry expansion anchors or more commonly, once the mounting holes are drilled, attach the mounting studs to the back of the plaque, fill the holes with epoxy before sliding the plaque with mounting studs attached into the epoxy filled holes. Hold until epoxy is set up.
Can a plaque be mounted on a post outdoors instead of a wall?
Yes. Stake or post mounting is available for markers that stand on their own post rather than attaching to a wall, common for historical markers, trailheads, and freestanding signage. There are different options available for different size plaques.
Can a plaque be mounted without visible screws or holes?
For drywall or hollow walls, toggle bolts are used with a rosette to conceal the mount screw. For wood, screws can be used with the screw heads covered with a rosette.
Can a plaque be made in a custom shape or with a company logo?
Yes. Plaques aren't limited to rectangles. Custom shapes, logos, and raised or recessed artwork can all be cast from a design, drawing, or sketch you provide.
Historical Plaques & Markers
Can you replicate a historical marker we already have?
Yes. Send a photo or the specs of the existing marker and we can match the design, alloy, and finish for a consistent look.
Can a historical marker include an organization's logo or seal?
Yes. Logos, seals, and custom artwork can be cast directly into the plaque alongside the historical text.
Recognition & Donor Plaques
Can donor names and giving levels be added to a recognition plaque?
Yes. Plaques can list multiple donor names organized by giving level, and additional names can often be added later as a campaign grows.
Can a recognition or dedication plaque match a specific design style?
Yes. We can match a specific look you already have in mind, including color, font, and layout, even for a donor or dedication piece rather than an official marker.
Additional Mounting Notes
The mounting for an address plaque fit all of the mounting methods previously discussed except post mount.
Name plaques are mounted on a wooden base or mount to a door, typically.
