The 269 acre Lewisville Railroad Park is one of the elite nature and sports facilities in the country. The park features 16 athletic fields hosting soccer, lacrosse, baseball, softball, and football activities. The Park includes a skate park, dog park, jogging/walking trails, outdoor workout equipment. There are also 3 lakes, one of which will be stock with native fish by the Texas Parks & Wildlife. An existing wetlands area on the north and west perimeter of the Park will remain undeveloped. This will provide a protected area for migrating & nesting birds and native wildlife.
The Park also preserves some of the rich history of Lewisville and the Katy Train Depot. The park honors the significant contribution of the local rail service to the growth of the community, which is represented in the architecture of the structures that echo the design of the original Katy Depot.
